GAIL PAVLIGA FROM ATWATER ANNOUNCES RUN FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE
COLLEGE PROFESSOR AND COMMUNITY ACTIVIST VOWS TO MAKE PORTAGE COUNTY A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND RAISE FAMILIES
Atwater, OH, December 13, 2019---Gail Pavliga from Atwater, Ohio has filed her petitions to run in the race for State Representative for Ohio House District 75. Dr. Pavliga commented that “Portage County needs to remain a great place to live and raise families. I will do everything possible to encourage small businesses and entrepreneurs to create good-paying jobs. A solid economy is the base for achieving the American Dream and homeownership.”
With her background and education, Pavliga knows the real issues facing our community.
“As a Christian-based counselor, I work with many families facing paying their bills, providing for their children and realizing the American dream,” said Pavliga.
I want the people in Portage County to live the American Dream, and I want to help them accomplish this by keeping taxes low and incentives for businesses to locate in our District."
Pavliga’s aim is to work with local agencies, law enforcement, and pharmacies to find ways to limit access to dangerous drugs. With the current Opioids crisis, police are overworked, jails are overflowing, and families are broken. As a counselor, I have seen the ravages that drug addictions have on a family and a community. “It’s time to find solutions that work.”
Additionally, Pavliga wants to ensure that Portage County Schools get their fair share from the State budget and the support they need to make sure our students are successful while School Boards and communities seek to pass needed levies. Since a majority of adults in Portage County do not possess past a high school diploma or GED, it is vital that our high schools produce better outcomes. “I believe it is possible to have high student achievement, a great school environment and be fiscally responsible,” Pavliga added.
Gail and her husband, Frank have lived and worked in Portage County for 28 years. They have been blessed to raise their two children, Katie and Steve in the Randolph community. Katie and Steve both graduated from Waterloo High School. All four of them are graduates of Kent State University.
Gail is very community-minded and is currently involved with or has participated as a Member of the Portage County Republican Women’s Club, Past VP of Portage County Republican Women, Co-Chair/Emcee of 2019 Conceal/Carry Fashion Event, Brimfield Boy Scout Troop #259-Son Steven is an Eagle Scout, Portage County Soap Box Derby, Instructor for Ravenna Parks and Recreation Center, Sponsor/Supporter of Waterloo/Randolph Community Sports Teams, Board Member and volunteer for the Alliance Pregnancy Center, Bowler/Supporter Portage County Child Advocate Services, Friends of Randolph Library-past member, Former Mrs. Ohio-Recipient of Community Service Award, Sunday School Teacher, Alliance Area Ulster Project Host Family and Volunteer and Host Family for International Students.
Gail has started and built several businesses, a counseling practice, and is an adjunct professor at Malone University. Her husband, Frank Pavliga has also built his architectural practice here in Portage County. "I want the people in Portage County to live the American Dream, and I want to help them accomplish this by keeping taxes low and incentives for businesses to locate in our District."
